HOOD ISLAND Punta Suarez
In Punta Suarez you start enjoying before you land. The first impression about the island -just in the place where you land- will be to see how other animals live in complete peace and harmony really closely: marine iguanas, seagulls, blue-footed boobies, crabs and lava small lizards.
In the sender, you can observe those piquero in their normal activities -carving their nests, fighting their territory or at thermoregulation process'. You can see masked boobies, which nesting zone if different from the blue-footed boobies one. There are beautiful tropical birds in their caves, beautiful color crabs, which cover the black laves, great color nice sound dreaming eyes, separated tale seagulls, which make incredible pirouettes at the edge of an impressing splendor cliff.
The "Hueco Soplador" (Blowing whole) is there too. It ejects the water up to 20-25 meters over the sea level, when the waves are big and the high tide. There are albatross, too, which colony has about 15,000 couples, and which nest from April to November... A unique place!
Bahía Gardner
, (Gardner Bay) is located at the Northeast of Española Island. It is one of the most beautiful beaches of the world, with white and thin sand, smooth waves and gradual deep. It is an excellent place to go swimming with the sea lions, walking for the beach while you see bullfinches, marine turtle nest, and almost all the time, Galapagos sparrow-hawks, which have their territory around that place. It is a big island scenario, around which you can snorkel. Click here to backIn it - behind the dune - there is a small lake, which gets feed by a variety of tides. Here, we can find flamingos, real turuturus, small ducks, immigrant birds, and beautiful vegetation of really high tolerance to salt. By its footpath - 10 minutes away, at the South of the mentioned place-, there is a beautiful white beach with exaggerating thin sand. This is the ray feeding zone, and the turtles nesting zone. Swimming is forbidden.
Corona del Diablo
(Devil crown) is a cork of what it possibly was a big volcanic ash type cone. It is built by four big rocks, which form something like a crown. There are excellent places to freely snorkel inside and outside of it, among several fish's species, like surgeon fishes, river fishes, sharks, rays and some other, which swim between corals and rocks. Waters are crystalline and warm.Bahía del Correo
(Mail Bay) is at the North of Floreana Island. It is a Port with a beautiful beach and a great sight, barely vegetated. A few steps from the beach, a barrel can be found. This barrel has been changed a lot of times and rebuilt some other. The pirates and whalers, as a mailbox have used it since 1793; at the beginning, this was an obligatory place to pass by for every ship which got to the Islands.Today, plus refreshing at the beaches, you can pick or leave the mail to or from your friends, keeping like this, the tradition of this place.
